Deleting your NidoLoop data

NidoLoop is made by Nido Technologies LLC. This page explains how to delete your account and the information NidoLoop holds about you and your child, what happens when you do, and what — if anything — is kept afterwards.

Deleting your data is free, on every plan we will ever offer. So is downloading it first.

How to delete your data

From inside the app

  1. Open NidoLoop and go to Settings (the gear icon, top right).
  2. Choose Account.
  3. Tap Delete account & data.
  4. Confirm when asked.

That is the whole process. It takes effect immediately and does not need our involvement.

Before you do it, you may want your record. Settings → Account → Download my data writes a JSON file containing everything NidoLoop holds for your family, which other software can read. Once the account is deleted the record is gone, so export first if you want to keep it.

By email, if you cannot use the app

If you have uninstalled NidoLoop, cannot sign in, or would like written confirmation that everything has been removed, write to privacy@nidoloop.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it.

Tell us the email address the account uses. If your account was created by joining a family with an invitation code and has no email address of its own, say so and tell us the name shown against your entries, and we will find it.

We reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

If you are the parent who created the family, deleting your account deletes the whole family record, for everyone in it:

If you are a caregiver rather than the parent who created the family, deleting your account removes you from that family and deletes your account. The family's own record belongs to the family and stays with them — but your profile and your record of hours worked are yours, and they go with you.

What is kept, and for how long

Deletion is immediate. Deleting removes the records above from our database straight away — it does not hide them, mark them inactive, or move them somewhere else. From the moment you confirm, they are gone from the running app for you and for everyone else in the family.

Two exceptions, both ordinary:

We do not keep a shadow copy, a profile, or an anonymised version of your data after deletion.

Accounts nobody uses

You do not have to do anything for this, but you should know it happens.

If an account has not been used for 180 days, we delete it and its data. Before that we email you at least twice — at 30 days and at 7 days — and every one of those emails includes a link to download your record first.
